Parivalaya

Parivalaya the school for the special children was started on the 6th Nov 1994 with 6 children. The School was started with the aim of supporting and educating special children from economically poor background.  Parivalaya does not collect any fees from the children and is supported by the EGMORE Wesley church congregation.

The children are given Kanji in the mornings, Lunch in the afternoon and snacks in the evening. The classes are divided into 3 – the primary, secondary and vocational.

We currently have 23 children with one child attending regular school once a week.

The Primary children are taught self help skills and basic academic skills like reading and writing.

The Secondary children are taught reading, writing, numbers, time and money.

Pre-vocational training of cutting and pasting, domestic skills washing vessels and clothes.

The vocational class children are trained on tailoring, baking, foot mat making, paper jewellery, candle making, paper bag making.

The generous donors of the Egmore Wesley congregation also provide special lunches to the children on special days.

Mutton Biriyani      –           Rs. 3500

Chicken Biriyani      –           Rs. 2500

Vegetarian Lunch   –           Rs. 1500
